My Mediums

     The only mediums I used in my chart were my MP3, Television, and Video games. Although they were the only mediums I used, I did not use them very much. I never really have time to do any of these things because of school, work, and sports. My favorite medium would be my MP3 player because I love music. The medium i get information from would be the television because I can check up on all the hockey games, football games, and baseball games I missed the previous day. I don't play a lot of video games but in my spare time I like to play my PS3 for a hour or 2 to have some fun for a bit, but it is not a good source of finding out information.

Reading Mass Media

     The song I chose to listen to is the song "Cats in the Cradle" by ugly kid joe. This song has a very strong meaning to it which i dont think alot of people truly understand. The song tells a story of a little boy that gets no attention when he is younger because the father always puts him second. At the end of every course of the song the boy always says "you know im going to be like you dad". So as the child gets older he always puts his father second, just as the father did to him. The father does not relize why his own son does not want to have anything to do with him. Near the end of the song he relizes what he has done to his son and why he acts this way. His own song has grown up into how he was. The song has a very sad meaning but it has a very strong story behind it, it tells the listeners that kids need attention and you have to give it to them or they are going to grow fond of you not being there.

Finger Licking RACIST!

     I just seen an add about a white man in a crowd surrounded by black people cheering, he pulls out some fried chicken and all the black people shut up, you no what i call that? Racist! The typical stereotype is that black people like fried chicken so when the white man pulled that bucket of fried chicken all the black people shut up and focused on the chicken. This add was made in Australia and was not meant to be seen outside of Australia but i got leaked on the Internet so everyone was mad at KFC for the add. Shortly after the add was leaked KFC took the add of TV for good, they said it was not meant to be racist, but that it was about a cricket match but i think not! I smell some chicken, or is that just chicken fried racism!

Pop Culture is Lame

     Pop culture is a huge part of of peoples choices and influences today. People will do anything to try and fit in by wearing certain brand of clothes and even be racist or sexist towards people to try and fit in better or be more popular. It influences us more than we think, people wear a certain brand of clothes, listen to a certain kind of music, even pick on a certain type of person. It is all about what we find "cool" in our society that affects us. I believe pop culture has hit the western culture the hardest, western being Canada and the United States of America. I think it hits us so hard is because we are exposed to mass media. Pop culture is like a computer virus and Mass media is the Internet. Pop culture uses it to show what is the cool thing to wear, look like, act, etc. I think Pop culture is stupid, i wish i had a fishing rod, a boat, and a cabin and i could just go fishing everyday instead of dealing with people who think they are better because of the clothes they wear or the shows they watch. i just want to fish and live in a sweet cabin.
